DONOR RIGHTS DECLARATION
As a Civil Society Organization (CSO), we believe that donating is a voluntary act, and that giving and sharing improve our quality of life. Because we value gaining the trust and respect of the public for CSOs and their projects, and because we care about donors and potential donors making safe and informed donations, we stand behind and support donor rights. We acknowledge that all donors have the following rights:
- To be informed about the mission and vision of the CSO, how the donation will be used, and the capacity and intention to use the donation effectively in line with its purposes,
- To obtain information about the board of directors and managers, and to expect that the managers perform their duties prudently and responsibly,
- To have access to current financial information,
- To request a guarantee that the donation will be used according to its intended purpose,
- To receive an appropriate expression of thanks,
- To request confidentiality of their donations in accordance with the law,
- To expect that all employees representing the institution maintain professional conduct in all interactions with them,
- To know whether the person requesting the donation is a volunteer, an employee, or an external party hired specifically for this purpose,
- To request removal of their contact information from lists if it is to be shared with others,
- To have the right to ask questions during the donation process and to receive immediate, accurate, and clear answers.
