BURSA OTTOMAN TOMBS INFORMATION PANELS (2006-2008)

This project was initiated to address the deficiencies in both the number and quality of informational panels at archaeological sites, museums, and monumental structures in Turkey, specifically focusing on the Muradiye complex in Bursa. It also aimed to serve as a model for similar monuments. The project was carried out with the permission of the Republic of Turkey Ministry of Culture and Tourism, in cooperation with the Bursa Governorship and the Bursa Archaeology Museum Directorate.

The bilingual (Turkish and English) panel texts were prepared by academic members of the Board of Trustees of the Cultural Awareness Foundation, specializing in Ottoman history and art history. The panels were designed by Ayşegül Safkan and were put into service in 2008.

The panels, which served visitors to these monumental structures between 2008 and 2013, were later renewed by the Bursa Metropolitan Municipality.
